FOR SALE: 1972 Camargue Blue AK400 2CV Van - Price: £8,250
AK400 2CV Van
Colour: Camargue Blue
Mileage: c.46,000 km
MOT to July 2018
Wonderful fun historic 2cv van that is a dream to own and drive in the countryside. The car has been used as a family resource for local trips and family picnics with the kids. Imported from South of France (Nime) in March 2016 by me.
Left hand drive, Camargue Blue. Drum brakes, two seater but registered as four seats (if required). First registration July 1972. Stored by original owner in barn for 15 years until 2015 when reinstated to the road.
Used as Aeroplane Pilot transfer vehicle at Nime airport in the South of France. An incredibly honest vehicle that visibly has nothing to hide. Its condition is probably due to the climate of the south, only two owners from new. French records including Carte Gris (photostat) available.
Fully UK registered and MOT’d til July 2018. Tax exempt vehicle soon to be MOT exempt in May 2018 post one final MOT in July. Authentic c.46,000 kilometres indicated by original Citroen factory exhaust fittings. Completely original chassis and bodywork all in very VERY solid condition for a 46 year old car. It has a roof rack and all seating inside is original. Since its arrival in the UK it has been stored in a dry garage and used only during the summer months on dry days. The patina, factory specification stamp on offside panel and the odd dint to the body (totally in keeping with this kind of vehicle) gives it a pure French lived in look that is remarkable for its age.
The vehicle, has had a very extensive going over/update by a 2CV professional called Pete Sparrow (www.sparrowautomotive.co.uk). Pete has said that this is the best original van he has ever seen and wished he had seen it first.
In addition to updating all the perishables throughout the car etc. Pete installed seat belt fittings (as vehicle was pre-seatbelt legislation), new piston and barrel kits, 123 ignition, Harley Davidson coil as well as replaced a new floor pan section and bulkhead in order to future proof it. All has been zinc primed, stone chipped, seam sealed were needed and finished with waxoyle underneath. Top chassis front plate removed and replaced. Shock absorbers overhauled. I have all the rebuild pictures taken by Pete Sparrow which I can share with you. Pete is also happy to answer any questions you may have about the car. This vehicle is now very sound mechanically throughout. It is only in need of a little tarting up of the bodywork if you do not prefer the French lived in look.
