1980 2cv), every v5 since new, anti corrosion guarantee, stamped service book, most old MOT's and about an inch thick sheaf of invoices
Long term ownership (17 years) and comes from my collection of 5 current 2cv’s, having owned 50 of them over a 20 year period.
The car has a galvanised chassis, and full body off total rebuild by myself over a 14 year period. Almost everything mechanical has been refurbished or renewed, and original excellent bodyshell had full panel replacement repairs to eliminate all corrosion.
More than £12k has been put into it during the rebuild including engine rebuild by Pete Sparrow to 602cc fast road spec.
Also includes all new: x4 wings, bumpers and mounts, wheels, full exhaust, roof, upholstery, dampers and full brakes.
92,500 miles in total though car has done about 1,000 miles since it was finished in 2018.
Mix of excellent original light grey paint and side striping, against full inside / outside dark grey respray to body and panels. Project intention was to retain originality / light patina where possible.
Mot'd until April, but will be supplied with a years MOT at point of sale.
Reluctantly for sale due to low use and to finance listed cottage restoration.
Overall, it is a lovely car, that drives well with no vices and is an ideal companion for high days and taking to shows etc. Other than being washed it hasn't got wet on the road since being rebuilt. It gets lots of positive comments wherever I take it.
Late model 2cv’s remain the most driveable of the lineage, and a fair number remain in daily use (my daily driver is another 2cv) proving what a remarkably practical classic car they still are. They can keep up with modern traffic in most situations and have near new car parts availability. This one features all the normal modifications to aid near new car reliability too.
Early 2cv’s and the wider A series stable have all seen significant rises in value. Given the higher usability of late model 2cv’s I believe that their lower values are due a correction soon that will also recognise that it is currently not cost effective to build an equivalent car to this one for the purchase price.
The car is based between Luton and St Albans in North Herts. You are welcome to view it and drive it with proof of insurance. I am happy to accept payment in cash, or by bank transfer for it.
