Graham Majin's 2CV sold to Pennsylvanian
Graham Majin's 2CV sold to Pennsylvanian - 8th October 2010
Hi Dick, The car has now sold (to someone in Pennsylvania USA!). Many thanks for all your help.. what a great website! Best wishes Graham Majin
Many thanks to Graham Majin from Dick Roberts (2CVTV.com) for permission to publish
Hi Dick.. I made a video of the last European journey of our 2CV. I drove her from kent to Hampshire where she’ll be put into a container and shipped across the Atlantic. Thought it might be of interest to you/your website.
Regards Graham.
Citroen 2CV 1973. Very good condition, a real “head turner”, fully restored in 1992
Citroen 2CV 1973 left hand drive. Fully restored in 1992 with new body shell, new wings, bonnet and quarter panels. Waxoyl injected into bodyshell etc. New stainless steel exhaust and bumpers, new interior and complete repaint plus French style number plates; In other words; a very thorough restoration.
The car won best of show award at 2cv Registers Day at Combe Abbey and has been featured in YOUR CLASSIC and PRACTICAL CLASSIC AND CAR RESTORER MAGAZINES (1993) It was featured on the front page of 2CVGB news in 1997.
The recorded mileage is 39,534 however we understand that a second hand engine was fitted at the time of the refit, so the engine will have done more miles than this. I don’t know how many exactly.
The car has the original chassis which is in excellent condition. The car sailed through its MOT at the start of September 2010 and is offered for sale with a 2nd spare wheel, new style number plates (a previous MOT inspector insisted on them, even though others hadn’t)! Also included; a spare speedometer, jack etc. Also included is an antique chrome fire extinguisher which is fitted under the bonnet.
This is a beautiful car and a real head turner. She starts on the button and is great fun to drive. We bought it September 2008 and used it for a year. It’s been SORN since the spring of 2010 as we’ve been too busy to drive her. It’s a very reluctant sale, but we think she should go to someone who has the time to drive her.
She’s in very good condition, though not cosmetically perfect. SORN, MOT until September 2011, front and rear seatbelts.
We have lots of bills and paperwork including letter s from previous owners with full details of restoration. Also included are the two magazines mentioned above.
Video shot in September 2010 to show her starting and driving. http://tinyurl.com/3y6jgwh
