Drive it Day

Some months ago us people in the south were wondering what to do on Drive-it Day regarding the 70th. Anniversary of Citroen and the 40th. Anniversary of 2cvgb. Gill and Bill of the Surrey Madhatters came up with the brilliant idea of hiring the village hall in Oakhanger, which is central to us all.
Accordingly we all arranged to drive there by scenic routes (we are not allowed to call them convoys nowadays for insurance purposes).
Over 60 vehicles assembled at the village hall and green, representing 9 local clubs.
The weather behaved itself and everyone was quite happy to picnic on the village green. Local residents came along and chatted and it was an excellent day all round.
Each club provided a cake. How brilliant were they and how much was left over – not enough to support a 2 person tea party!
I wonder how many 2cvs will be at Oakhanger in 2088!
