Richard Hollis & Stuart MacDonald
Journey to the edge of the known world
Pt 1 April 2012
Richard Hollis and Stuart MacDonald had 3 months to prepare for their new adventure 'Rich and Stu's journey to the edge of the known world'
First there was the 2CV Limo to Turkey Trip, then 2CV Across Africa Trip with Eleanor, but now there's maybe the hardest challenge so far!
Take a 425cc 1960 Citroen 2CV that last ran 25yrs ago, and is ready for the crusher, and coax it all the way to Gibraltar and back, stopping at every major city on the way! Stu and Rich knew it was going to be tough but for once they don't even know whether they would actually do it. The phase 'No problem' may have to be banned!
By the way - why was it called 'Journey to the Edge of the Known World'? Well, in old times (BC) the Phoenician Culture thought that Gibraltar was as far as you could.
Once again they did this to raise awareness and some money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. In March 2011 Rich sadly lost his Mum to this cruel disease after 3 and half years of suffering. We hoped the awareness and any donations will help other people like Rich's Mum who are living with MND, and maybe one day, a cure will be discovered.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a fatal illness which leaves people locked in a failing body, unable to walk, talk or feed themselves.
Every day five people die from this cruel disease. Over 5000 people are diagnosed with MND in the UK at any one time, yet very little is known about its cause and there is no cure.
Please rest assured that 100% of what you donate will go to the charity, as any expenses for the trip are being funded by us.
