January 1st
Fils de Vitesse & Pompey Puddleducks
New Year's Day Barbecue
at the Hollycombe Steam Collection museum
Barbeques were lit and ready to cook on by 12 noon.
(The Hollycombe steam in the Country was not open as rides are dismantled for inspection and maintenance during the winter.)

What difference a year made! Instead of torrential rain we enjoyed blue skies and wall to wall sunshine - you can trust me again now (Tony) Yet again Hollycombe Steam Museum turned out to be a fantastic venue and it was also a chance for people to look round to see what a great choice it will be as the destination for 2cv and other Citroën convoys around the country on Drive It Day this year (Sunday 28th April). This coincides nicely with the 100th Anniversary of the Citroën company and by then Hollycombe will be fully open for the Summer season, with masses of parking and all the fun of the steam fair and Museum on the doorstep.
The turnout for our barbecue was easily up there with the best years at Hayling Island, so coming inland seems not to have been such a bad idea after all. We had 34 cars altogether – 18 2cvs and derivs, 1 DS, 1 Bx and 14 others (mostly later Citroëns anyway). Most cars had at least two in so probably 60 people in the feeding frenzy.
Our thanks go to Hollycombe Steam Museum for opening up their lovely site just for us and to Sean Cullen in particular for making it possible.
Finally thanks to all of you for making the trek from far and wide to support our event.
